i had this toaster for less than a year when it caught on fire after less than one minute of being turned on. I clean out the crumb catcher religiously so there is no reason that it should have been on fire-but it was. Thank god I had a fire extinguisher on hand. If you want to buy this, then make sure you can stand in front of it and ensure it doesn't go up in flame every time you toast.
